Free Winter Check with all services booked in December
Prestige Car Servicing are delighted to be able to offer their customers a free Winter Check included with all services booked in December. With many predicting another harsh winter, we understand the problems that extremely cold and wet weather can cause drivers and their cars. At Prestige Car Servicing throughout December, we will be including a free Winter Check, typically retailed at £20, with all Service A, Service B, Inspection 1 and Inspection 2 services. Simply book online or call us on 0844 800 98 24 to book a service and the free winter check will be carried out automatically.
Be Safe and Prepared for Winter
A cold, wet and harsh winter can have a big effect on road and driver safety, with poor visibility, slippery road conditions. The cold can also have an impact on the reliability and performance of your vehicle, with most batteries failing during cold spells as well as coolant anti-freeze levels being a potential to cause major damage. At Prestige Car Servicing, we are including on all of our Winter Checks, the following inspections to ensure your vehicle is prepared as best it can be for the winter ahead.
- Tyre Check is one of the most crucial checks, without sufficient tread on the tyres, road handling will be poor and the safety of the car can be compromised. The minimum legal limit for tread depth is 1.6mm.
- Antifreeze Check to ensure the antifreeze levels are sufficient in the coolant system. Coolant freeze is the biggest cause of break downs during winter months and can easily be avoided with this check.
- Windscreen Wiper Check to ensure the wipers are able to remove water from the window. Hampered visibility from poor water and snow removal from the windscreen can be extremely dangerous during dark winter months.
- Screen Wash Fluid Check to ensure sufficient quantity to last winter. Screen wash tends to be used more during winter to remove mud and grit from the windscreen. Using just water in the screen wash can increase the likelihood of ice on the windscreen or frozen jets.
- Car Battery and Alternator Check to ensure that the connections and condition of the Car battery and alternator are good. Battery failure is more likely during colder months and prevents cars from starting.
- Brake Check includes checking the brake pads, brake discs and brake fluid levels to ensure the brakes work correctly. Poor condition brakes increase stopping distances especially in bad weather.
- Rear Heated Window Check to ensure the rear window heater can effectively remove mist and ice.
- Fog Light Check is used to make sure the fog lights work effectively to ensure the car is visible to other motorists in foggy and misty conditions.
