About Us

Here's the story of how we started, and where we've come from.

After many years of experience in the motor industry, we saw the need for an independent approach to car servicing that wasn't tied to any particular manufacturer.

The company we launched was built on quality workmanship, reliability and honesty.

We were the first to offer free collection and delivery, and free wash and vacuum.

When the Internet came along, it provided the perfect platform to pioneer the idea of private online booking, linked to a national network, providing quality service at more competitive prices than main dealers.

Today, Prestige has a bigger network carrying out more jobs and working to higher standards of approval than any other independent operator.

But we're not sitting back. That's because every day, thousands of customers trust us with the servicing of their cars. And to deserve that trust, we continue to apply the most rigorous standards to the service centres we allow into our network...

Paul Underhill is network development manager for Prestige.

"I've got engine oil in my veins. I started as a technician working for Ford, Vauxhall, Volvo and Audi dealerships.

Later I worked for the AA looking after fleet servicing, and for one of the largest vehicle leasing companies in the UK, managing technical aspects of cars and vans.

Today, Myself and my team spend our lives on the road. Our job is to develop the best and highest quality servicing network in the UK. That means constantly vetting our service centres, and looking for new possibilities. And I'd rather not have one in an area if it's not right.

I always try to look at things the way that a customer would, and imagine how I'd feel in their shoes.

Setting high standards starts with first impressions. Courteous, welcoming staff... customer facilities... quality premises.

But we dig very deep. Qualifications, diagnostics, documentation... right down to details such as whether the technicians can extinguish the dashboard service lights. Little things like that really matter.

Once we've signed up a service centre they're subject to detailed and regular independent audits by the OFT, BSI, MICP or even all three.

But in the end the customer's the only judge that really matters. That's what keeps me on my toes."
